CHICAGO, III., February 1.—The following inter-
esting excerpt from the Chicago daily in the re-
view of the concert of Joseph Cherniavsky and
His Band, recently said:
"The most sensational hit was Cherniavsky's
composition entitled 'Kaddish' (Of My Ances-
try). This number is a relief from the tradi-
tional 'Eli-Eli' and is even stronger and more
appealing. Joseph WinogradofF, operatic tenor,
sang this with the orchestra and it won an over-
whelming round of applause."
The Edward B. Marks Music Co., the pub-
lishers, sold over 2,000 copies of this song in the
fortnight since the band has been on tour.

well known composer who has written a long
list of successes and who will be particularly
remembered this season as the writer of "Sym-
pathy Waltz", recently placed in the catalog of

of the season's best waltz numbers.
