MILWAUKEE, WIS., October 13.—Borrah Mine-

a sensational triumph during his stay in this

and the Hohner firm also presented Hohner
harmonicas to all the finalists. The newspapers
gave considerable publicity to the affair.
The dealers tied up with the harmonica week
in splendid fashion, advertising and making ef-
fective window displays. Among the music
stores which specialized in harmonicas during
the Minevitch appearance were the Kesselman-
O'Driscoll Co., Chas. J. Orth Co., Badger Music
Shop, and Yahre & Lange. Two thousand
Hohner harmonica instruction booklets were
distributed.

The space allowed at Park and Alder streets
was not sufficient for the growing business. As
the lease on the old location will not expire
until the end of the year, the entire store will
not be moved until that time. The sheet music
department has already been moved and busi-
ness is being done at both stores. The window
display will be largely increased in the new loca-
tion and already there are some attractive win-
dow displays, while the work of completing the
installation is going on inside. Mr. McDougall,
being the leader of the sixty-piece Elks Band,
will be in closer touch with the "Best People
on Earth."

are in charge of Julius D. Horvath, New York

The object of the 'convention is to aid in
the development of the violin making industry
as an American art and the association has the
endorsement of such eminent musicians as

Sigmund Spaeth and others as well as such
trade members as John Friedrich & Bro.,
Buegeleisen & Jacobson, Fred Gretsch Mfg, Co.,
H. R. Knopf & Sons, Win. Voit Co., Goll-Evans
Co., and C. Meisel, Inc.
Paul Specht's Orchestra will play during the

ELKHART, IND., October 13.—The advertising de-
partment of the Martin Band Instrument Co.
has prepared an interesting circular for the
music dealer's use in promoting the cause of
band music in the schools. The circular is
headed, "Just Ask Rockford," and tells the story
of the organization of a successful band in the
high school of Rockford, 111., and the equipping
of it with Martin Handcraft band instruments.
One of the pages of the folder also shows
four other school bands which are Martin
equipped. These are the Johnstown, Pa., High
School Band; combined bands of the Emerson
and Froebel Schools, Gary, Ind.; Lowell, Mass.,
High School Band, and New Trier High School
Hand, Wilmette, 111.

he aroused great enthusiasm for the harmonica
and assisted in the formation of a number of
harmonica bands and orchestras among the
pupils. At the Wisconsin Theatre he played
to an audience of 3,500 people and was ac-
companied by a symphony orchestra.
With the co-operation of the Milwaukee Jour-
nal, Mr. Minevitch promoted a harmonica con-
test here last week to determine the best har-
monica player in the State. Medals were pre-
sented to the winner by William J. Haussler,
