thing for everybody and for almost every con-
ceivable kind of program. Hundreds of thou-
sands of these catalogs are being distributed
through the trade and, the demand for such
material being all the year round, their value as
business getters is obvious. A distinct depart-
ment of this catalog takes care of every requisite
for minstrel shows, from the opening overture
down to burnt cork. The wealth and variety
of the song material offered in every form, solos,
duets, trios, quartets, is unequaled, while the
splendid and unique series of opening choruses
and closing makes the Witmark house ideal for
the selection of a smashing up-to-date minstrel
program. Plays, sketches and specialties are
available in abundance.
In children's entertainments and those for spe-
cial occasions, patriotic and otherwise, the cata-
log is rich; it includes action and dialogue songs
of all kinds and many novelties in the way of
musical sketches for the grown-ups. The mate-
rial ranges from the dramatic to the sentimental
and from the sentimental to the humorous.
The Witmark entertainment material includes
also the popular series of comic operas, oper-
ettas and musical sketches written epecially for
amateurs by Arthur A. Penn, whose work is
characterized by a brilliance and originality that
makes it a tremendous favorite with amateur
organizations seeking material that is not in
itself amateurish in any sense. Such Penn
operas as "Yokohama Maid," "The China Shop,"
"The Lass of Limerick Town," "Mam'zelle Taps"
and "Captain Crossbones" have been done in
practically every city and town in tfye United
States and Canada, and every season they add
to their popularity. In addition to the operettas,
which all furnish a full evening's entertainment,
there are many successful one-act musical
sketches contributed by Mr. Penn, including
"The Ladies' Aid," "Striking Matches," "The
Bargain Hunters," "Bachelors and Benedicts,"
and several more.
A companion catalog that is almost an in-
separable adjunct to the Witmark Entertainment
Catalog is one devoted entirely to the octavo pub-
lications of the Witmark house. Herein are
listed approximately 2,000 numbers, a truly re-
markable variety of good things for male, female
and mixed voice combinations, the material com-
prising duos, trios, quartets, quintets, sextets,
choruses, cantatas, etc., included in which are
ballads, both standard and "popular," also
sacred, novelty, comedy, and dialect songs of
every description. Besides these there is also
an excellent assortment of numbers for use in
schools and colleges arranged for two and three-
part singing. All these interesting features are
classified and described in the handiest possible
way, making selection not only easy but a source
of delight and satisfaction.
These two catalogs represent the building up
over a long period of years of a truly invaluable
branch of the publication of M. Witmark &
Sons.

Kondas Closes Branch
The Kondas Music Publishing Co., which
formerly operated a branch in New York, has
closed its Eastern branch for the Summer and
all business for the next few months will be
done from the executive offices in Ashtabula, O.
This firm has just released a new song entitled
"Don't Take My Gal," which, from early indica-
tions, has unusual possibilities in the near fu-
ture for sales.

Future scanning projects are planned by the International Arcade Museum Library (IAML).
