Eureka Banjo Method
The piano silhouette by Felix Arndt, entitled
"Nola," which has gained wide publicity through
its fox-trot arrangement, still continues to be
featured in solo form. One of the most recent
uses made of it in this manner appeared in the
program of the Palace Theatre, New York,
where J. Stanley, musical director of Wells,
Virginia and West, performed it as a trombone
solo, a piece of work that is roundly applauded.
Florence Walton and Leon Leitrim, the dancing
team now appearing at the Palais Royal, New
York, also danced to the strains of "Nola" in
schottische arrangement. Phil Raker renders
"Nola" on his accordeon in this season's "Music
Box Revue." "Nola" is played nightly by Vin-
cent Lopez and His Hotel Pennsylvania Orches-
tra, and this number is also interwoven in the
elaborate musical prologue for the Norma Tal-
madge photoplay, "Secrets." Others who fea-
ture "Nola" in the metropolitan area are Eddie
Foy and family; Joe Daly, who appears at the
playing the name of the song was made by
the music director of the boat, Dick Hardman,
and the number will be featured on each trip of
the boat during tlie present season.
