Jan Ga rber and Hi s Ga rber -Davis Orch estra,
of Atlanta, Ga., on e of the se nsa tions of the
orchestra field this season, is shortly to be
booked for a season by Keith intere s ts for
me tropolit a n appearances. It is said that all
the la rge hou se s w ill see this unu sual mus ical
combination. Undoubtedly, the orc he st ra will
th en tour the count ry, being booked with th e
aid and co-op e ration of lo ca l dealer s. A few
word s re gar ding th e metho ds a nd personnel of
thi s sen sa tional musica l agg re gat ion should be
o f inter es t.
Garbe r, bes id es being a whole show in him­
self, has on e of th e most unique, s ingin g, danc­
ing and playing bands in existen ce to-day. The y
have youth, individuality, rhythm and showman­
ship, ' and th e only fault to be found is that in
th e majorit y of instances the dan ce rs cease to
da nce and ga th e r around to watch the boys
"p ut 'em o ver."
Thi s organization has been
signed by th e Victor on a n exclusive cont rac t
for a p eriod of time and their first recordings
a re enjoyi ng a wide sa le. Garbe r is having
wonderful success with the new fox-trot hit,
"That Bran ' New Gal of Mine," an d gives the
number a marvelous presentation,
