Sherman, Clay & Co., San Francisco, Cal., re-
cently released a new song entitled "You Won't
P>e Sorry," by the writers of the past season's
success, "Do You Ever Think of Me?" The pub-
lishers have inaugurated a drive in professional
circles which is to be supplemented by intensive
activity in the orchestra field. Already a number
of vaudeville performers are programing the
song and the various branch offices of the com-
pany are enthusiastic over tbe results thus far ob-
tained. Sherman, Clay & Co. now have, besides
their various retail establishments, which do much
to exploit their songs, four professional offices,
one in the Pantages Theatre Building, San Fran-
cisco, under the direction of Herbert Marple, a
New York office at 56 West Forty-fifth street under
the management of Dick Powers, a Los Angeles
office in the Superba Building in charge of
Leonard Vanberg, and a Minneapolis office at
622 Nicolett avenue, in charge of Ronald Jonson.
PORTLAND, OKE., April 8.—Carl Lamont, Pacific
Coast representative of the Sam Fox Music Pub.
Co., with headquarters at San Francisco, was
recently in Portland visiting the sheet music deal-
ers. Mr. Lamont is on a six weeks' tour over his
district and will return to the South by way of
Salt Lake City. He said he found business im-
proving wherever he went and that all the deal-
ers were very optimistic as to the future. Mr.

Dreamer" and "Only a Smile," which latter is
being sung by John Steel.
One of the new Jerome H. Remick & Co. songs
that is having a big demand in Portland is "Ohio."
Clyde Freeman can always depend upon the co-
operation of Henri Keates, the organist of the
Liberty Theatre, and they have put this song on
during the week in which "Penrod" was shown
and it was featured at each showing of the film.
It had a week's run and it was sung by a singer
dressed like Penrod and he had the freckles and
all the other characteristics of the star, and the
