ROLL MEN ASK HIGHER PRICES
Philadelphia Association Passes Resolution Urg-
ing Publishers to Increase Retail List Prices
on Popular Editions of Sheet Music
0tii)erl)iuott
At the monthly meeting of the Retail Music
Roll Dealers' Association of Philadelphia held
last week the following resolution was adopted
for presentation to the Music Publishers' Asso-
ciation of the United States:
"Resolved, That we favor the increase in
price of popular edition sheet music with the
uniform retail price of fifteen cents. We sug-
gest this advance of price and assure the pub-
lishers that the Retail Music Roll Dealers' As-
sociation of Philadelphia will lend their best
efforts to the support of the movement."
That the dealers in music rolls should see lit
to recommend an increase in sheet music prices
is distinctly significant and presages closer co-
operation between the sheet music and the music
roll interests.

SAM FOX CO. OFFICE IN NEW YORK
Thos. J. Donlan to Act as Representative for
That Company in the East With Headquarters
in the Metropolis—Has Had Wide Experience
Q/oucaritwriVe
Sam Fox Pub. Co. recently opened up a New
York office under the managership of Thos. J.
Donlan at 226 West Forty-second street to take
care of the fast-growing interests that the firm
has been acquiring in Eastern territory. Mr. Don-
lan, by the way, has had many years' experience
in the retail and wholesale publishing held
and in the past has been connected with some
of the leading American music houses.
During the past few years the house of
Sam Fox have made big strides in the publishing
field and recently have felt the need of having
closer co-operation with the trade and profes-
sional fields in the East. The increasing de-
mand for their standard piano pieces and songs
from their "Operastyle" catalog encouraged
them to plan personal representation in the
metropolis.
In addition to covering the vicinity of New
York Mr. Donlan will also make frequent visits
to Philadelphia and Boston. Frank Pallma,
Jr., of the Fox Co., will make the other Eastern
cities and Russell O. Weiss will with Sam Fox
cover the Western territory.
