PLANNING A STRONG CAMPAIGN
The new firm of B. D. Nice & Co., Inc., who
org'anized for the purpose of exploiting the
works of Lee David, will start a publicity cam
paign in the early fall. Among the songs by the
above writer which they will feature are "Won
d'ring," "Tents of Arabs" and "Romance."
Benjamin Levy, general manager of the com

would see what Herb Roth, the artist, claims
to have seen, they might consider it more in
the light of a penalty than a gift. However,
the intention was good, the trio, \Valter Bacon,
of the \'Vhite-Smith Music Co., C. M. Tremaine,
director of the National Bureau for the Ad
vancement of Music, and J. M. Priaulx, "Uncle
"Joc," of Chas. H. Ditson & Co. look happy and
everybody's satisfied, both with the conventions
themselves and the aftermath.
CALLS IT $20,000 NUMBER
Lee S. Roberts' "A Little Birch Canoe and
You" is withollt doubt one of the most suc
cessful waltz songs issued in many seasons.
As a dance its popularity does not seem to wane,
and it appears to be bent on making a similar
record to that established by "Missouri \Valtz,"
which is constantly revived by the orchestras
for dance purposes.
A NEW ORIENTAL NUMBER
The A. J. Stasny Music Co. are the publishers
of a new Oriental number entitled " My Desert
Fantasy." This number is being given much
publicity througll the medium of the orches
tras, with' which it is quite popular. The song
ha'S been placed in the higl;-class catalog of the
company.
"Mending a Heart," one of the latest add;itions
to the high-class catalog of Gilbert & Fried
land, Inc., is considered by Wolfe Gilbert, of
that firm, to be one of the greatest songs issued
