Sensational Song Hits
NO ONE BUT YOUR DEAR OLD DAD'
"HOLLY DEAR ITS YOU IM AFTER
| "SHE'S GOOD ENOUGH TO VOTE WITH YOU"'
THAT after listening to the music of the "Victor
Herbert Revue," now being presented in vaude-
ville, one is impressed with the fact that Mr. Her-
bert has to his credit probably more comic opera
successes than any other living composer.
THAT the prize cup craze still obtains among
the song pluggers who frequent theatres on "song
writers' nights."
THAT George Moody, formerly connected with
the Penn Music Co., has taken charge of the band
and orchestra department of T. B. Harms &
Francis, Day & Hunter.
THAT when one song writer was approached for
his reason for writing a peace song he declared
it was solely for the purpose of coralling a "piece
of change" in the matter of royalties.
THAT Earl Carroll has been commissioned by
the Los Angeles Herald to write a special song
for California Day, to be celebrated in that city
on March 18.
THAT Carroll is fast becoming one of our lead-
ing little official song writers.
THAT Leo Feist, Inc., will publish the music of
the new musical play written by George Mac-
Farlane, and in which he will star next season.
The title of the piece is "Heart o f t' Heather."
THAT there has been prompt demand for E. T.
Paull's latest march, "Woman Forever," which
was issued to the trade only recently. It looks
like a big seller.
THAT the "preparedness" songs are coming
thick and fast and rivaling the mother and State
songs in number.

Some time ago the Century Music Publishing
Co. issued fifty of the leading numbers of Century
Edition in a special series of decorated title pages
for display purposes. The title pages were thor-
oughly artistic, and the dealers handling Century
Edition were so enthusiastic regarding the selling
qualities of the fifty selected numbers that ar-
rangements have been made to add fifty more pop-
ular numbers to those already supplied with dis-
play titles. The second assortment will soon be
ready for general distribution, and the designs
prepared for the series are of a most elaborate
character. In the matter of special advertising,
display titles and other sales helps the Century
Edition dealer finds things made easier for him
every day.
