New Viennese Operetta to Have Premiere at
Atlantic City at an Early Date.
Andreas Dippel is now preparing for its premiere
at Atlantic City, very soon, the new Viennese
operetta "Princess Tra-La-La." The piece is in
three acts, with music by Leo Ascher and libretto
and lyrics in English by Matthew Woodward.
Under the name of "Hoheit Tanzt Waltzer" the
operetta has already enjoyed nearly 100 perform-
ances in its original form at the Irving Place
Theatre, New York. The Karczag Publishing Co.
publishes the score of the piece.

MUSIC AT MEALS_FOR CONVICTS.
Col. Charles A. Rook, president of the Board of
Prison Inspectors, has decided to have music dur-
ing all meals for the 750 convicts in the Western
Penitentiary at Pittsburgh, Pa. The music will be
furnished by talking machines and player-pianos,
unless a volunteer quartet and pianist can be found
among the convicts.
