Only "Mistake" of the Van Camp & Donahue
Co. Was in Providing Plant That Proved Too
Small to Handle Their Business—New Build-
ings to Take Care of Orders Promptly.
It is seldom that a varnish house makes a "mis-
take," but when the VanCamp & Donahue Co. re-
cently erected a new factory at 4476-4486 East
Seventy-first street, Cleveland, Ohio, they made the
"error" of erecting a plant that too soon proved
to be entirely inadequate to the amount of busi-
ness booked, so they are now building another
structure, similar to the one shown herewith, which
will double their capacity and thus enable it to care
for the business that it seems to secure easily.
John T. Donahue, secretary and treasurer, is a
well known figure in the varnish business, having
a wide acquaintance in the piano field, and it is
through his efforts mainly that this large amount
of business was booked. " 'Quality'—that's the
argument" is the slogan of the company, and a
business conducted along these lines, reinforced
by an aggressive policy, is sure to make for itself
