NEW PIANO RENTABLE TRUSS.
Melville Clark's Valuable Invention, Which Will
Interest the Trade at Large.
Every piano manufacturer and every dealer is
familiar with the tendency of the piano key
table to sag at the middle, necessitating read-
justment of the keys to equalize the stroke. This
difficulty is liable to be increased by the addition
of bellows and pumping mechanism in an auto-
matic piano, these added elements being fre-
quently supported below the key table. The
pumper action in many of the more desirable
constructions imposes a direct strain upon the
key table. '
The truss shown in the subjoined cut effect-
ively overcomes this difficulty and makes it pos-
sible for any one, at a moment's notice and by
the simplest means, which cannot possibly be
ated for tightening the truss, by any flat blade,
as a screwdriver, engaged with the slots.
Melville Clark, the inventor, Steinway Hall,
Chicago, will be glad to enter into correspondence
with piano manufacturers with a view to supply-
ing them with this simple but highly important
device.
