State Conventions
-
Never before in all its history has this industry seen so many operators'
statewide conventions. Over 14 operators' state conventions will take place
this year of 1975. Truly impressive and inspiring.
Bill Gersh
Some of these operators' state associations have been in existence for over
20 years while others will be meeting for the first or second time. All expect
to attract the majority of the operators in their states along with visitors
from surrounding states plus distributors and factory representatives.
Distributors as well as factory reps are happy over this turn of events.
The state conventions present a most unusual opportunity for them to display
the ir latest machines. To meet and greet operators during the exciting and
stimulating days of conventiontime.
Some manufacturers are arranging for their salesmen and executives to attend
as many of these statewide operators' meets as possible. Due to the fact some
state conventions overlap each other, factory men will have to forego some of
these meets.
'
The answer, of course, is for the heads of all the states' convention comm-
ittees to meet in Chicago and set dates long in advance so that there will no
longer be any overlapping of conventions.
;
Most important is the fact state after state is holding its own convention.
Some for 2 days, others for 4 days. All must agree this is most impressive,
especially when considering that, just a few years ago few, if any states,
held such outstanding expositions.
~'bat marvelous, progressive effort can come into being at statewide operators'
conventions. What a grand array for the benefit of legislators. What an outstand-
ing sight for all the retail merchants to whom operators cater for cooperative
financial benefit. Most definitely a stimulating factor for better public relations.

Allied industries and suppliers should be happy to attend and display their
wares. Local auto dealers to show cars and pickups. Makers of various parts and
supplies can enjoy profitable showings of their merchandise. In short, state
after state after state presents a most unusual opportunity for all sellers to
meet and greet their ultimate consumers - the operators •
