Coin Slot Magazine - #048 - 1979 - January [International Arcade Museum]
Letters to the Editor
Dear Gil;
First let me thank you for a fine magazine "Coin Slot". I'm
sure a lot of readers feel the same but don't always take the time
to write to tell you so. I've got a question that has interested me
for quite some time now but I don't know how to go about it.
As you know, I live in Toronto, Canada where slots are not legal.
I would like to know: 1. How one goes about changing the laws
affecting slots? 2. How many supporting names on a petition are
required to help determine a need for change? 3. Would the law
not check for possession of slots if you are identified with trying
to change the laws. 4. Are there any Toronto Coin Slot readers
interested in joining me in seeing what could be done?

Dear Harold;
Thanks for your comments about "The Coin Slot". Yes, we
have a number of other readers in Toronto and hopefully they will
contact you when they see this letter. Experience has shown that
a group of collectors can indeed change the laws in their area, but
there are some risks involved. To date the collectors in various
areas who have contacted a highly placed public official have not
suffered exposure. But they were worried, just the same. There
are no hard and fast rules concerning the size of a group necessary
to change the laws.
As always, the more the better. As far as the
procedures required to get the laws changed in your favor, Coin
Slot Books has commissioned author Dick Bueschel to write a
complete review of where and how the laws have been changed in
the past three years. Dick's new book will outline the complete
