Atlas Distributors had a five-day show-
ing of the Seeburg Industrial-Commercial
music system at the Hotel Touraine from
March 31 to April 4, and displayed also
at the Electrical Show in Mechanics Build-
ing. Atlas is enjoying a very successful
business on this new music.
The Trimount Coin Machine Co. re-
ports good sales on moving picture ma-
chines.
Alvin W. Dawson, president of the Amer-
ican Locker Co., was on the West Coast
for the month of April.
Ralph Lacky, manager of the Pioneer
Music Co., left recently on a trip to
Virginia, accompanied by his wife. He
says the television and music box business
is going over big in Massachusetts.
Associated Amusements, Inc., have reo
moved from 846 Commonwealth Ave. to
204 Brighton Ave., where they occupy the
entire building.
Harry Poole, a former salesman for As-
socia ted, has gone into business for him-
self at 810 Beacon St.
C. Frederic Wellington
is on display at Advance Automatic Sales.
. . . Viking has increased their supply of
charms, adding many new lines of sales

A former Standard Oil sales engineer,
George Easter, of Berkeley, is applying high
type business methods and is making a
success in the candy vending field. He has
been operating bars for two years. . . .
That fast-moving Murdock man buzzed
back to the home office after a three-week
business flyer that took him to Portland,
Seattle, Chicago and Los Angeles.
A couple of Mape maidens, Toni North
and Henrietta Burlien, departed for Hono-
lulu April 15 on the maiden voyage of the
55 Lurline for a two month vacation . . . .
Add vacationites : Mrs. M. A. Pollard, who
sailed aboard the Queen Mary for England
on the first leg of a four·month around-
the·world trip. From England Mrs. Pollard
will fly the continent.
Bill Schetter, head of Jack R. Moore
Co., conferred with Walter Huber, San
Francisco branch manager, in mid-April.

other plants, but miners and mill workers
who mostly live in the suburbs, boosted
patronage of coin machines in locations
near home.

Cola Bottling Co. of Pennsylvania is plan-
ning a big expansion program in this
area, which will include soft drink vendors.
D. L. Clark Co. recently held its annual
celebration dinner at which 98 employees
were guests, all having been with the firm
20 years or more. The firm has been mak-
ing candy bars for 62 years.
Louis Hopkins, of Pittsburgh Coin Ma-
chine Exchange, says his prediction of an
increase in pin ball plays has come true.
He made a trip to Chicago recently "to
keep up on the latest in vending machines."
Kennywood Park opens its summer sea-
son May 12; a good numb er of coin ma-
chines are found here ... Arcade operators
are reporting a pickup in attendance al-
ready . . . Jack Nellis continues to buy
new machines for his two arcades and
says that is the way to increase business.
Representatives of the big department
stores were among the visitors at the show-
ing of the new Seeburg Select-O-Mat here,
by Atlas Music Co. Atlas men on hand
were Lou Hoffman, Edward W. Shore, Fred
J . Meier, Lou Green and Bosk Trbovi ch.
Music operators and record firm s re-
cently joined to contribute more than 3,000
phono records, all new, to veterans in five
hospitals in this area. The contribution
is considered one of the fin est public re-
lations activities in this section.
P enn Township has passed a $100 license
fee on pin ball games.
Fifty soft drink vendors are now operat-
ing in the fire houses in Pittsburgh.
Joe Ferraro, manager of Tri-State Auto-
matic Candy Corp., expects a good upturn
in candy vending. His firm also operates
candy counters in thea ters in Ohio, West
Virginia and western P ennsylvania.
Oscar Williams, Keystone Music Co., has
100 music machines of one make, and 150
