Gentlemen:
I have received your sample copy of THE
REVIEW and liked it very much. It has a
nice amount of "meat" in it and not just
ads. Please enter my subscription for one
-year.

. Dear Sirs:
Please find enclosed settlement of $2
in payment of subscription. I cannot tell
yon how much I look forward to picking
np the threads of my business again, and
I hope very soon after the war to attend
a convention of fellow coin machine men
on your side.
I am now turning out a new vendor, de-
• signed from my experience as an operator,
which has one or two new ideas, or should
· I say, ideas taken from other trading
Santa Ana, Calif.
Dear Paul:
It certainly doesn't pay to advertise in
your magazine. On my first "gum" ad the
operators were so slow in answering that
I had already placed the ad for the second
time. Then the orders started rolling in and
• exhausted my supply so that after the sec-
ond ad appeared it took one person's time
sending the money back on the orders we
were unable to fill. Sending the money
back cost more than the profit on the gum
deals.
Container doesn't advertise but as a fac-
tory representative it certainly pays me;
especially with the gas shortage. Many
operators I had never heard of have an-

swered my ad and have re-ordered many
times. It has paid me and the operators
have really profited because they found
"Container" and, as I have always said,
an operator isn't an operator if he isn't
using Container boards. At least they don't
make as much money.

Dear Mr. Blackford:
I had the opportunity of looking over a
copy of your publication when I was in
Detroit some time ago, and it is a fine
magazine. We in Canada, no doubt, are
suffering the same restrictions as you are
experiencing. We envy your record of not
missing an issue in the past ten. years. We
are certainly looking forward to receiving
your magazine each month.

Dear Paul:
Congratulations on the December issue
of THE · REVIEW. One of the best, full of
good advertising material, interesting read-
ing, and a surprising number of new com-
panies publicizing themselves-particularly
in the Southland.
Our Seattle column has grown consider-
ably and it looks like we have started
somethin g that will put the Northwest on
th e map, so far as THE REVIEW is con-
cerned. That is what we want-am I right?
