Theaters gauge their receipts by the quality of the pictures they exhibit. Panoram Operators
are in the same category for a good film means good income .
)
The trade is, at present, confronted with the problem of how to obtain good subjects suit·
able for use in the regular Panoram and those converted into Peep Shows alike. A quick look
behind the production curtains of the producers of "quickie·talkies" will invariably show why
this problem exists. A producer employs a nice looking girl for a flat f'ee of $15.00 per day .
During an 8-hour schedule she makes about six subjects to the accompaniment of phonograph
records . You can use your own judgment as to the quality of a picture produced under such
a set-up.
When I entered this field of amusement I established a policy of alw'1Ys endeavoring to give
the trade what they asked for--GOOD SU8JEClS produced in a showmanship fashion and
always employing talent of known repute. Therefore, stars like ISABELITO CASTRO, now under
contract to maior studios, will be starred on all films released by Qur Fine Art Films.
Space is limited. but you will be interested in the calibre of the personnel active in the
creation of Fine Art Films. Coaching our stars and rehearsing them for their appearance before
the cameras. is Leo Wolf. owner of one of Hollywood's vocal studios coaching some of the big-
gest stars for maior productions .
Chuy Castillon and Mario Santos of the Guadalajara Trio, famous artists from our friendly,
nei~hborin9 Republic of Mexico. are under contract to supervise music: on subiects featuring
Latin American artists.
Handling the actual production is TELEFILM, the number one studio in the Industry for
16 MM sound pictures . J . A. Thomas and Peter Comandini, Telefilm executives; Robert Finch,
sound technician. and Peter Gioga. sound engineer, are contributing their respective talents to
making our releases tops. No expense or time has been spared to produce pictures that will
please the public and MAKE MONEY for operators of sound equipment. It has been proven by
SOUNDIES that good subjects with good talent cost from $1500 to $2500 per subject.
The above will give you an idea of the subjects that will be
released by Fine Art Films.
