ter could not find a tractor, even a second
hand one, for sale, so he hauled off and
built himself one. A right neat and serv-
iceable job it is, ' too.
Another example of Hearn's mechanical
ability, this time assisted by operator Paul
Dean, is a midget, single cylinder, automo-
bile. Pretty soon Dean will be scooting
about his route in fair comfort and con-
siderable haste with the grand feeling that
he is light on tires and easy on gas.
H. H. Horton is due to become plenty
popular with his fellow operators in the
near future because of a new sideline he
plans to handle. He promised to talk for
publication real soon.
Houston operators are truly enthused
over their victory gardens. Quite a number
of them were born and raised on the farm,
others have made gardening a hobby for
years, but to many it is a brand new expe-
rience. The last named group are really,
and literally, digging in, and bid fair to
more than make up in hard work and study
the edge the others have in experience.
