Jim Reed
Jim Reed-General Superintendent
ever all P AMCO, and branches, chief
engineer and designer, better known
to trade as "Poppa."
Mr. Reed was formerly with sev-
eral of the larger motion picture stu-
dios in a technical capacity. He de-
signed the noted whale used in the
filming of "Moby Dick," in which
John Barrymore was starred. The
whale, which cost some $17,000.00,
sank at once when launched in the
briny deep just off the coast of Cata-
lina Island.
Without any question, Mr. Reed
was the man responsible for "MAJOR
LEAGUE," and it is only due to
months of untiring effort on his part
that this game has reached the pres-
ent degree of mechanical perfection.
Both his employers and the men
who work under him swear by Jim
Reed, and his unwavering loyalty to
the former and his consideration for
the latter have made him many
friendli. He will go a long way in this
or any other business he may follow.

The ball lift or elevator on any
marble game is one of the items
taken mostly for granted. Yet the
workmanship necessary to produce a
really satisfactory ball lift is one of

The Neu-Bart Stamping & Mfg.
Co. produces the ball lift used in
the new MAJOR LEAGUE. They also
do metal spinning, having recently
completed the large 5%-foot diame-
ter aluminum ball for the New
Times building lobby. This ball was
the largest made on the Pacific Coast
out of sheet aluminum, and was
made in two halves.
