give them a machine that would be right
mechanically. A machine that every oper­
ator could use. One that would make good
money.
About eleven months ago, experimenting
began. Progress at first was slow. It took
much patience and courage to go on. Ma­
chine after machine was made and put to
one side. Every time some new improve­
ment, some different device was thought
of and often, too, a less persistent staff
of mechanics would have abandoned the
work as an impossible task. But not so
with Rock-Ola’s mechanics.
They kept
right on to the very end.
Of course, all the while, it was very
costly to do so much experimenting. It
took lots of money. An idea of how much
may be obtained from the fact that
$29,600 was spent for dies alone. But
today, operators may point proudly to the
Rock-Ola Four Aces. It is their machine.
It is the result of their experience. It is
made by a man who is one of them. And
it is for them.
Unquestionably, it is a great and distinct
achievement, and a new page has been
added to the history of coin-operated vend­
ing machines with the coming of the long
awaited Rock-Ola Four Aces.

of Ireland. Dublin.
Don’t let anyone sell you a tour when
you go to Europe. A person of average
intelligence can get along in Europe about
as well as in America. I f you can’t, it
is “over your head” and you will not ap­
preciate it. I saw more American girls
crying around Europe this summer than I
ever wan to see again. They had bit on
these high pressure tourist schemes with
the result that all the glamour and
romance was destroyed. Of all the rackets
I know of going on in America today, these
tourist agencies are getting away with
about the worst.
