Gebhard in New York
Mr, Gebhard of the Advance
Machine Co., has returned from
a trip to New York and reports
good orders and big prospects
for future business. While there
he conferred with President De
Grenier and Secretary Blendow
regarding affairs of the Na
tional Vending Machine Manu
facturers’ Ass’n. This meeting
was also attended by Ford Ma
son, a director of the association.
By drinking- 35 cups of coffee and
smoking 6 packages o f cigarettes
every 24 hours, Roger O’Mallia, 40-
year-old insurance salesman of San
Antonio, Texas, has established a
record of 150 hours without sleep,
John Matthews, Presbyterian min
ister of Glendale, California, who
“ over preached” while delivering a
recent sermon, is the first church em
ploye to apply for state industrial ac
cident compensation in California,
Gesticulating to emphasize his ser
mon, Matthews strained a muscle,
necessitating an operation.
Katharine Ott of Oberlustadt, Ger
many, claims ownership of the oldest
grapevine in the world. The stem of
the vine has a circumference of 47
inches, its roots reach 250 feet into
the ground, and it bears luscious
grapes every year. Experts believe
the vine was planted about 1500,
