The National Music Week Committee ol

tablishing an innovation this year by de-
signing an "Inter-American Music Day"
in National Music Week which will begin
on the first Sunday in May. This opening
day this year will be the designated
"Inter-American Music Day" and an invi-
tation has been sent to all countries oi
the Western Hemisphere to pay tribute to
music along with the United States. In
its announcement the committee states:
"It is hoped that the participation with us
during one day of the seven may soon
lead to the adoption of an Inter-American
Music Week and later to a world-wide
International Music Week, in which all
nations which genuinely wish to be friend-
ly may join together in giving expression
to their feeling of fellowship and their
desire to advance their common interest
in the spirit of harmony and good will."
