WHITEMAN IN THE "FOLLIES"
Featuring "I Love You," the Song Hit of
"Little Jessie James"
With the opening of this season's "Z iegfeld's
Follies," the Paul Whiteman Orchestra, led by
Whiteman hims elf, is ably assisting in, as Zieg
feld describes, "Glorifying the American Tal
ented Gir1." One of the outstanding numb ers
programmed by Whitf'man, in dance form, is the
so ng- success from "Little Jess ie James," "I Love
You" L. Lawren c(' \Veber, the producer of
this latte r show, naturally protested following
the o·penin g, but on second thought acquiesced,
looking forward to the rendition being an ad·
\ertisem e nt for "Little Jessie Jam es ," although
from all reports of the receipts, additional ad
vertlslOg is not a necessity. At any rat e "1
Love You" ' is the bi g so ng and dance success.

PUBLISHES "THREE LITTLE ODDITIES"
"Three Little Oddities," a new s llite for piano
by Zez Co nffey reviewed in these columns last
week, was erroneously credited to the Forster
Music Co. As a matter of fact, this publication,
iss ued in book form , and undoubtedly familiar
to the great majority o f the trade, is published
by the Boston Music Co.

came Western manager of M. Witmark & Sons
in place of Tom Quigley, who resigned his posi
tion recently to join the Hearst Music Publi sh

Chicago office of M. \Vitmark & Sons for some
time and is familiar with the duties formerly
performed hy Mr. Quigley.
NEW KAV STERN NUMBERS
The Kay Stern Co., music publisher, 1540
Broadway, New York City, is featuring several
novelty songs, two of which are quite popular
in dance form. These numbers carry unusual
lyrics of the "blue" variety, the type that is
having such wide popularity at present. They
are "He May Be Your Good Man Friday" (But
He Comes to See Me on Saturday Night) and
"Hot Dawg."
