The Christmas Tree of Light and the Com-
"Whose Pretty Baby Are You?" one of the
latest releases from the publishing house of munity Chorus have decided to work together
Jerome H. Remick & Co., seems to have quickly this Christmas. The Community Chorus, un-
der the direction of Harry Barnhardt, will sing
carols for an hour on Christmas eve around
the big Christmas tree which will be erected
in Madison square and then the listeners will
be invited to march to Madison Square Gar-
den for further singing.
The chorus is practising every Sunday from
3 to 5 p. m. at the De Witt Clinton High School,
Fifty-ninth street and Tenth avenue. Every
one is invited to join in the rehearsals. There
are no charges.
LEO FEIST, ING^JNCREASE PRICES
On November 1, Leo Feist, Inc., sent to the
sheet music dealers throughout the country
notices of an increase in price in their standard
and operatic catalog. The increase is hardly
more than a few cents in most cases, and it is
doubtful whether it covers the increased cost
of labor and materials.
"DOG" WALK SONG BY CALDWELL
ivicoge Winaow Display of Remick Song
met favor with the song loving public. The
new number was announced as the successor
to "Pretty Baby," and as it is by the same
authors, G u s K a h n and Egbert Van Alstyne, it
gives them two popular babies at once.
Herewith is reproduced a photograph of the
window of the S- S. Kresge Co. store, of Syra-
cuse, N. Y., showing an attractive window dis-
play of "Whose Pretty Baby Are You?"
Numerous 10-cent stores and sheet music deal-
ers have also signified their intention of mak-
ing a special display with this new song.
INDEMW
John S. Caldwell, of the J. R. Reed Music
Co., Austin, Tex., has supplied the music for
the new song, "Down Where the Niggers Walk
the Dog," which is being published by the
Reed Music Co. Bettie Tilford supplied the
words for the song.
Leo Feist, Inc., has just issued the instru-
mental selections from the "Flora Bella" oper-
etta. One contains the "Flora Bella" waltzes
and the other contains piano selections from the
principal numbers of "Flora Bella"
SCHENCKE
Milton H. Berry, traveling representative for
the estate of Hamilton S. Gordon, music pub-
lishers, recently returned from a trip through
the South and West, with the report that sheet
music dealers in those territories are having a
good season. Mr. Berry, who left Monday on
a trip through New England territory calling
on the trade, says the new edition of Beyer's
Method, published by the Gordon firm, has been
the cause of numerous congratulations being
received from dealers.

New House Organ of Sam Fox Co., Cleveland,
Proves Full of Interest
A very human little booklet is "The Fox
Trail," a new house organ issued by the Sam
Fox Publishing Co. Volume 1, Number 1, bears
the date of November, 1916, and will be issued
monthly hereafter. The first number is full of
interesting little items about the Sam Fox Co.
dealers, and the Sam Fox prints, and has a
story by John J. Apffel, of the Southern Cali-
fornia Music Co., on window displays. Russell
O. Weiss, publicity manager of the Sam Fox
Co., is editor of the new publication.
