THAT the practice of singing songs across the
:ontinent through the medium of the telephone
has become quite common during the past couple
of weeks, and were it not for the courtesy of the
telephone officials would prove an expensive pub-
licity stunt.
THAT it might interest the enterprising pub-
lishers to know that music—talking machine music
—was carried across the country over six months
ago. In July, 1915, to be exact.
THAT Meyer Cohen, general manager for Chas.
K. Harris, has again proven, in the case of "All
I Want Is a Cottage, Some Roses and You," that
ht has not lost his salesmanship ability.
THAT the success that has attended the exploita-
tion of "They Didn't Believe Me" under the
Remick & Co. direction, indicates that the song
was another "good buy" for the company.
THAT, to judge by this season's record, the T. B.
Harms Co. might be referred to as "The House
of Interpolations," although they publish the com-
plete scores of a couple of nifty productions them-
selves—"Hip, Hip, Hooray!" at the Hippodrome,
and "Pom Pom," for instance.
THAT the wave of legal actions among the pub-
lishers and others connected with the trade ap-
pears to have experienced a temporary lull.

Going Big K I N G ' S Beautiful Serenade
The entire first edition of Chas. K. Harris' new-
song, "All I Want Is a Cottage, Some Roses and
You," has been exhausted, and as additional music
comes from the printer it is shipped out immedi-
ately to fill original orders on file, while later
orders have to wait. It is a condition seldom found
in a music publishing house, and is the result of
some clever salesmanship and a handsomely pro-
duced number.
Chas. K. Harris is now preparing for publica-
tion a new Hawaiian waltz by Vala La Lucia
and entitled " 'Neath the Hawaiian Moon." The
piece has a most delightful melody and has been
carefully arranged by Fred Watson.
