Edition—Secures Direct Results from Gen-
eral Advertising for the Dealer.
The extensive campaign of advertising in prom-
inent magazines of national circulation which has
been carried on for some months past by the Cen-
tury Music Publishing Co., and in which the com-
pany has had the co-operation of the dealers who
have been supplied with advertising electrotypes
for running in their local papers, has been further
augmented by a special series of handsome and
original title pages for window and counter display.
About fifty of the most popular numbers of the
Century Edition have been prepared with the indi-
vidual display titles, and full assortments of the
numbers thus prepared have been sent out to the
dealers. The new titles are, for the most part, in
colors, and represent a high class of work in that

particular. The titles are of the sort that should
prove very interesting when displayed in the show
window or on the counter, and will serve to bring
to the mind of the observer that it is the music he
or she has seen so widely advertised. Under such
conditions the sales should take a decided jump
for the better.
In sending the sample assortments of Century
Edition with the new title pages to the dealers, the
publishers announced that they would back their
confidence in the new titles to the extent of pro-
viding for the return of unsold copies. The fact
that there have been no returns to date is sig-
nificant.

of the Get-Together Club of the Oliver Ditson
Co., which will be held at the Boston City Club on
Monday evening, April 5, the company being called
together for 6.30. There will be several guests,
and the evening promises to be a most enjoyable
one.
The Aloha collection of Hawaiian songs has
just been issued by the Ditson house. The cover
is done in cream white with decorative printing,
and at the left is a Hawaiian scene. Charles A.
K. Hopkins is the editor and arranger, and in his
preface he says that he has endeavored to take
Hawaiian songs which are of the highest and
most representative type of the melodies of that
place. Seven of the compositions are by members
of the royal family of Hawaii. The words of the
snugs are printed both in Hawaiian and English.

G. Schirmer, Inc., Seeks to Restrain Singing
of the Opera at Gotham Theater.
"I Pagliacci," Leoncavallo's opera, became the
subject of litigation recently in the Federal Dis-
trict Court.
G. Schirmer, Inc. music publishers, sued Antonio
Ferrara and Enrico Odierno, who are alleged to
be producing the opera in the Gotham Theater, 16">
East 125th street, alleging infringement of copy-
right and demanding $5,000 in damages and an
injunction.
The complaint alleges that the Schirmer corpo-
ration in 1908 obtained an assignment of the
American copyright of the English version of the
opera.
