With all respect to the vending machine manufac-
turers and operators, I can truthfully say I hold no
grudge a.gainst that angle of the game. Here at the
present time in the city of Nashville, there are several
hundred of the regular machi nes in operation and for the
past 15 or 18 months, many of these machine operators
who work in this territory are the best friends we have,
and the majority of them work salesboards right along
with their machines and a gr eat many of them have

come to us for their supplies on machines. It has been
our idea to help them in every way we could, because,
as we see it, we are all down here for abo ut t he same
purpose and that is to live and let live and if occasionally
we cannot pass a long a piece of friend ly advice or some
help that will a id t he other fellow in making a start,
then we are likely to miss whatever purpose we wer·e
supposed to represent here on earth. We wish t he Auto-
matic World much success!

FOR YOUR INSPECTION, MR. OPERATOR
The manufacturer and distributor who advertise
actually are placing their merchandise before yo u for
inspection. They invite your most critical a.ttention and
an uncompromisin g comparison. And their advertise-
ments. so to speak, say to their products: "We have in-
troduced you- now stand on your own merits."
If the manufactu rers did not have confidence in
their wares, they would hesitate to call attention to t hem.
For advertising rigidly tests the maker, t he .seller a.nd the
merchandise. BUSI NESS SO TESTED, AND FOUND
NOT WANTING, IS PROSPEROUS!
In the long run, you can depend o,n the man who
advertises, as well as on his product. That is one reason
why people have found that it pays to read advertise-
ments.
It is through advertising that the excellen t t hings
of the world a.re brought to t he attention of th ose who
are seeking for the best and most economical way to
spend their money.
READ THE ADVERTISEMENTS. THEY ARE
NEWS.
