the new century will be marked
in many ways, and one of the
more lasting ones may be a new

MK4, Revision 2.0, has many
added features and improve-
ments over Revision 1.0
PLAYER-SELECTABLE CHARACTERS
THREE AnDmONAL CHARACTERS
One of the first things players will
notice in revision 2.0 is the addi-
tion of three new selectable char-
acters: Jax, Johnny Cage and
Reiko.
Jax and Johnny Cage are return-
ing characters from MK2 and
MK3. Reiko is a brand new char-
acter, exclusive to MK4.
On a I-player game, when play-
ers defeat every character, there
are now fully animated ending
sequences which show their
character's outcome after win-
ning the tournament.
CPU PLAYERS
Revision 2.0 has CPU fighters
which are much more challeng-
ing than those in Revision 1.0.
MORE DIFFICULT

Revision 2.0 has additional
moves forJarek, Sonya and Scor-
pion. There are also more fatali-
ties not found in Revision 1.0.
SION
REAL 3-D MOVEMENT
Players can now move in True 3-
D by quickly tapping the run
button twice. This allows play-
ers to move in and out of the
screen to pick up weapons or
dodge projectiles.
MORE WEAPON FEATURES
In addition to adding more weap-
ons than revision 1.0 players can
now throw their weapon at their
opponents, and use their weap-
ons in combos.
2-0N-2 PLAY
In a 2-player game, the players
can select 2 players each to fight.
There is a special coin setting for
this feature.
ADDED KoMBAT KoDES SCREEN
On the VS screen, Kombat
Kodes have been added to en-
able enhanced play features.
INTERACTIVE BACKGROUNDS
Certain backgrounds have ob-
jects, such as boulders, which
players can pick up and throw at
their opponent.
• Eliminated Coinage Problems
from Revision 1.0
• Added I-Player Operator Ad-
justment for Difficulty Settings
The Senate has approved legis-
lation for a gold-colored dollar
coin. The house has yet to take
such action, but a key subcom-
mittee chairman said he expected
that to happen shortly.
The Senate measure side-stepped
a controversy over what image
the should be on the new dollar
coin. It specifies only that the
coin be gold-colored and have a
different edge than the quarter.
The last dollar coin, minted from
1979 to 1981 with the image of
Susan B. Anthony on the face,
was rejected by the public be-
cause it looked and felt too much
like a quarter.
The legislation permits paper
dollars to continue circulating.
Previous efforts to replace the
Anthony coin and withdraw dol-
lar notes were defeated in part be-
cause of intense lobbying from
companies that supply the paper
and ink for notes and from
unions whose members print
them.
Dollar coin advocates argue that
the coin would not find wide ac-
ceptance unless the paper dollar
was withdrawn.
