OPERATORS AND TECHNICIANS
post problems/solutions.
We all encounter frustrating
maintenance headaches as the
course of doing business in the
coin-op game world.
Going online with your problem
or solution can save you
and others time & money.

Items you probably already have
with your system. If not, they are
an inexpensive purchase -and
well worth the investment towards
a more efficient coin-op business!
SAVE TIME
A good technician stays orga-
nized. Don't waste time looking
for parts that were there when you
started. When repairs require you
to leave a game to return and fin-
ish later, establish a standard place
to keep loose parts. For us it is the
cash box, but ziplock plastic bags
or snap lid food cups left in the
cabinet work too. Standard pro-
cedures means a different tech
doing the follow-up knows where
to look for dissassembled items.
store transistors, scews, Molex
pins, fork lugs for power supply
connections, etc.).
HANG 'EM HIGH
Save the magnets from broken
coin acceptors. Tearing down a
ticket dispenser or removing the
PC board from a monitor chas-
sis? Stick a magnet to the frame
and keep the screws on the mag-
net. Handy, huh?
FoR THE BENCH
This works on the bench: Little
35mm film canisters are great for
keeping screws and small parts in
one place. Does some disassem-
bly job take several steps? (e.g. lid,
PC board mount, heat sink, etc.)
Use a film can for each step and
number them with a marker. This
avoids confusion at reassembly.
