A-fONITORS:
50¢ PLAY
There has been some complain-
ing about the 25 cent price block
on pinball. Many areas of the
country are basically on 50 cent
play already. Think about it:
Three-for-a-dollar is only an 8
cent increase in price.
We have been on 25 cent play for
15-20 years. During the same time
the price of the game has gone up
three fold. At 25 cents per play,
we are the lowest price-per-play
of the civilized world. We have all
heard this but in some areas it will
take just a little longer to get 50
cent play.

times helps the income alot. If we
take a lesson from the candy com-
panies, it might help.

Transaction price is also a major
factor. If the average customer
spent $1.00 instead of 50 cents, it's
a no-bainer that we will make
more money. We found out with
jukes that not allowing quarter
play boosts the income up. The
down side to bills only is service.
Having a $ 1.00 SBA entry with
SBA supply for the bar would
solve this.

The Williams pinballs have alot
of game adjustments. Many op-
erators never use them. They are
important to use at any price play.
SWEET LESSON
Candy companies increase their
price per bar from time to time.
They also give the customer a
larger bar right after the price in-
crease many times. Maybe we
should give our customer a longer
game when we increase price and
maybe even when the game gets
older. Movies are more expensive
when they first come out than
when they are on videotape. Go-
ing to a four minute game many
There are a few pins now going
out on dollar play in the U.S.A.
So far they are earning just fine.
At this pricing, I feel the customer
should get a big bonus for a $5
bill, probably 7 or 8. The player
should also get a 4-5 minute game.
And, oh yeah, the dollar pin will
eliminate 25 cent play complaints
altogether.
