Bench Testing Deltronic Ticket
Control Board DL-4-P-S, DL-4-

MATERIALS
All you will need is a switching
supply with 12V, a couple of test
leads and a multimeter with a
Diode Check function ..
PROCEDURE
1) Check transistor Q3
(2N2222) with power off.
Place your multimeter into the
Diode Check mode. With the
red lead on the transistor base
and the black lead on the col-
lector you should have a volt-
age drop of about .6V de and
with the black lead on the
emitter you should have about
a .6Vdc drop. If this is not true,
replace Q3.
2) Check transistors Q 1 and Q2.
These transistors are the brake
and drive transistors. With no
power to the board, place your
multimeter into the Diode Check
mode. With the red lead on the
transistor base and the black lead
on the collector you should read a
voltage drop of about .7V de and
without removing the red lead
from the base and the black lead
moved to the emitter, you should
read about 1.2V de. If this is not
true, replace the transistors.
3) Now we will check the optic:
You will need a 12V de power
Transistors
NPN
PNP
supply and two test leads. Place
one test lead on the 12V de of
your power supply and the other
end to the number 5 pin on the
board. Connect the other test
lead to ground on the power sup-
ply and the other end to pin 6 on
; the ticket board.
Now with your black meter lead,
attach it to the ground of the
power supply. Turn the power
supply on and with your red
meter lead place it on pin 9 of the
IC without the Optic blocked -it
should read about .lVdc. Now
block the Optic and measure pin
9 again. It should read about
11 V de. If this is not true, replace
the Optic.
4) With everything (12Vclc
supply) still hooked up and
without blocking the Optic -
pins 8 and 11 should have
about 11 V de on them. With
the Optic blocked, pins 8 and
11 should have 0V de on them.
Without the Optic blocked, pin
9 should read about .1 V de, pin
10 should read about .003Vdc,
pin 12 should read 11 V de and
pin 13 should read .38V de.
With the Optic blocked, pin 9
should read about 11 V de. With
the Optic blocked, pin 10 should
read about 11 V de. With Optic
blocked, pin 12 should read about
0V de. With the Optic blocked,
pin 13 should read about 11 V de.
If this is not true, replace IC.
NoTE: Pin 14= V cc; pin 7 =ground.
