SUBJECT
SYMPTOM
If you haven't called the BBS sys-
tem very many times, here are a
few pointers.
The Rockola jukeboxes that I
have in operation have started to
exhibit an annoying background
hum, ( 60 Hz).

SECTIONS
Our system has three main sec-
tions. You get to the sections by
making a selection from the main
menu.
Please use your account
number when updating
your subscription
information.
CAUSE
In all cases so far, this has been
caused by one of two capacitor
failures. If you have a box that
uses the power supply board
#52315-a, first check the filter
caps for any Vac ripple.
If they are clean, look at pins 4
and 8 of the preamp IC 1 and 2.
You will probably find some Vac
floating about (more than likely f )
on the negative 15 volt supply at
pin 4).
.J
Your account number is a
five digit number found
on the top line - left side of
your address label, which
is affixed to your journal.

SOLUTION
In the message section, you'll no-
tice it's divided into several "ar-
eas." You can think of a message
area as a topic.
Replace caps C67 and C69 on the
power supply board. These are
the filters for the positive and
negative 15 volt supply to the
preamp and tone circuits.

The file section is also divided in to
areas. Think of this section as a
big software library grouped into
several areas.
HINTs
If you are new to computers or to
modem communication, the main
thing for you to do is RELAX.You
cannot harm our equipment, so

don't worry about that. If you get
lost in the system, try pressing
"?". The question mark is your
way of asking for help. We should
probably say "WHEN you get
lost" because poking around in
various corners of the system is
half the fun!
