Check your Mad Dog games:
Make sure your laser disk player
in your Mad Dog game is venti-
lated. Miµe was completely en-
closed with no air ventilation at
all.
SYMPTOM
The first thing that you see is a
gummy substance on the edge of
the disk or on the disk drawer.
This will get inside the player and
cause it to have problems seek-
ing. If this happens, the game will
reset and you will see the moving
gibberish on the screen that you
see when you first tum on the
game.

Mine is properly grounded and
the game still burns up the CIA
chips on the Amiga 500 board all
the time. Get a supply of these
from your Commodore repair
center if possible.
NOTE
Commodore has been jerking
around thier service centers so
you may have a hard time getting
any parts from them.
Battery acid.
PROCEDURE
Every pinball/video game that
comes through my shop gets the
battery, usually a 3.6v nicad
(nickel crudmium), dropped off
the board with wires. Wrapping
the batteries with electrical tape
so that the likelihood of acid va-
por escaping is lessened, this
places the battery far away -
where it can do no harm to logic
boards.
BOTTOM LINE
A cheap, easy bit of preventive
maintenance that possibly saves
a big headache later.
SOLUTION
Drill holes and install a fan to the
to vent the hot air outside before
your player goes bad.

Make absolutely sure your gun is
grounded all the way from the
