SYMPTOM
SUBJECT
The roller bearings in the wheels that support the
seat assembly and allow it to move side to side went
bad on our Cisco Heat driving game that wasn't
even a year old.
I don't mind the flybacks kicking out, it's all the
strange problems that it causes:
CAUSE
At first I thought it would be a simple matter of
replacing the wheels and bearings. Closer exami-
nation revealed that the shafts the bearings turned
on, had themselves started to tum and had cut into
the big (read expensive) seat support frame assem-
bly.
• Not locking the vertical correctly
• Only a red line across the screen, etc ...
PROBLEM
The biggest pain in the a .. however, is that there are
no ECG or SK cross referance numbers to the failed
parts.
SOLUTION
CHECK
I'm not sure if the bearings just aren't big enough
for the job or they ran out of grease over a period of
time. In any case, it is a big job to tear the whole
machine apart to get to the bearings. If you've got
one of these machines you might want to take a
look, before the job becomes a big expensive head-
ache.
I got lucky with a monitor that the factory repaired
and they used ECG replacement parts with the
numbers on them.
The horzizontal output transistor and the regula-
tor that I couldn't find in the books, but my supplier
had them. The horizontal output is ECG2300, and
the regulator is ECG2311.

Future scanning projects are planned by the International Arcade Museum Library (IAML).
