PROBLEM
PROBLEM
Bally pinball games with 6800 CPU board do not
provide "free play" option useable for home sales.
On 3 of these games, Super Hi-Impact: Sure is nice
of Williams to presort the wiring harness. What?
No sound?
SOLUTION
While some creative solutions include installing
externally accessible coin switches or setting the
replay score very low to award free games, these
have their limitations.
SOLUTION
Turn up the volume and the board resets? Seems
they got the test switch and the speaker crossed!

EPROM REPLACEMENT
~
A replacement Eprom, from Pintronics, for the U6
chip on those CPU boards provides the missing
"free play" option. This fast and easy game modifi-
cation frees up the replay option for things like
awarding extra ball.
The free play option is set using a DIP switch on the
CPU board, which means that the game will always
power up in free play mode, even after a battery
failure.
AVAILABILITY
The replacement chip is available for the following
U6 parts: E-720-40, E-720-52, E-720-53. This cov-
ers the games from Frontier through Cybernaut.
Chips for other games will be available depending
upon demand.
Also, the volume control plug was stuffed back-
wards! I think all 3 of these were made Friday
afternoon!
