Dynamo HS-13 Cabinets:
Notes & Precautions
Ken Williams
Dynamo Corporation
Richland Hills, Texas
SUBJECT
Some of you are aware of a few peculiarities in our
HS-13 universal cabinets. First, these cabinets are
intended to be used with horizontal kits only.
Second, there was a model change instituted by
Mitsubishi that has the capability to be set to power
(on) automatically without the remote.
PROCEDURE
You must have the model number V5007R in order
to do this. In order to access this option you must to
the following:
1. Unplug the game PCB.
2. Press the (menu) key on the remote.
3. With the menu on the screen, press keys
(0), (0), (8).
4. On this screen you have two choices:
a. LP (Last Power)
b. Hotel
Press Key # (1) to toggle LP (ON).
5. Press (enter) to lock setting.
6. Press (menu) to go back to the main
screen.
7. Press (menu) ~o go back to TV mode.
8. Select< EXT. #1 > as input and the TV will
stay set from now on.
NOTE
One major drawback to this is that there was a
slight modification done to the RGB drive circuits
that basically translates into a darker picture.
To compensate for the darkness, Dynamo has a
video amplifier to beef up the signal off the kits that
have weak video signals.
Also along with this amplifier will be a "Gen Lock"
device that allows you to shift the picture from the
upper left to the lower right without re-centering
the picture. This will help center the picture on kits
that are too far awaYfrom the NTSC standard that
the television is looking for.
IMPORTANT
DO NOT USE THIS AMPLIFIER IF NOT
NEEDED. DOING SO WILL SERIOUSLY AF-
FECTTHE LIFE OFYOURLIGHTTUBES(CRT).
As you might know, large screen televisions are ~
very susceptible to phosphor burns. This happens
because of the extreme brightness levels associated
with throwing a picture five to six feet on to a
screen.
Mitsubishi has taken steps to cut down a lot of this
burn with a special coating and phosphor mix.
REPLACEMENTS
Over time on games with a stationary background,
(ex: PACMAN), you will experience some screen
burn. When this gets extremely bad and you want
to replace your tubes, these are available through
Dynamo or your nearest Mitsubishi service center.
We at Dynamo feel that the Mitsubishi rear projec-
tion TV's are state-of-the-art and the best on the
market at this time. The impact of the system on
earnings of a kit are tremendous.
We feel that the trade off of problems verses income
are worth these incurred operating costs of these
systems. To minimize the burning of these tubes, it
is suggested that you choose your kits carefully.
