PROCEDURE
This Field Service Bulletin applies to the
Steering Wheel, Butterfly Shifter, and Steer-
ing Cam.
For further information contact your Sega
Distributor or Sega Enterprises, Inc.
1. Remove the steering wheel on the
game.
2. Disassemble the Butterfly Shifter.
A. Remove the black plastic Shift
Covers (SLC-1132 & SLC-1133)
that house the Butterfly Shifter.
B. Identify the 4 screws (000-
0408FS) that hold the Pin
Brackets (SLC-1304) -see Fig A).
C. Make sure these screws are
tight.
D. Use a small center punch and
deform the screw threads, after
they have gone through the Pin

3. Reassemble the Butterfly Shifter.
4. Re-assemble the Steering Wheel
using Blue Loctite, (Loctite #242
Threadlocker, or equivalent) on the 3
- M6 x 14 steering wheel screws.

5. Identify the 2 springs (SLC-1125)
that are on SLC-1116 Handle Unit (see
Figure B). (The steering wheel return to
center springs). Remove one of the
springs and keep it as a spare part.
This will reduce the wear on the Cam
(SOR-2114).
