Gauntlet Conver-
sion For V-Ball

SUBJECT
A Gauntlet cabinet makes a great looking con-
version for some of the 4-player kits on today's
market. On of the "sleepers" is Taito's V-Ball. It
is collecting some very high numbers on my
route.
PROBLEM
When you put a V-Ball kit in your Gauntlet, you
will discover that the horizontal width on the
Wells Gardner monitor (Model 19K4914) is too
small and cannot be corrected by turning the
monitor adjustments. The reason is that addi-
tional components were added to the Horizontal
Output section of the monitor to "shrink" the
horizontal width to be compatible with the re-
quirements of the Gauntlet logic board.
SOLUTION
The Horizontal width can easily be expanded by
doing the following:
Locate the heat sink (next to the flyback trans-
former). On the heat sink is a terminal strip with
a choke coil, two capacitors and two diodes.
Remove (cut) the following:

Install a .22 mfd/200v mylar capacitor into
location C365 and adjust the horizontal coil
(located right next to C365).
NOTE
The circuit board is already labeled for C365.
