SYMPTOM
Do you often get service calls saying that the
monitor is out but when you get there every-
thing is running fine. What usually happens
is that the bar owner turns the machine on,
sees that the monitor is not on, and calls.
Five or ten minutes later the monitor myste-
riously comes up.
PROBLEM
Game takes a long time to power-up on a
cold start; slow to reach 5 volts.
CAUSE
Some HI TRON switching power supplies
used on games since Road Blaster may
develop this problem with C9 and Cl0 ca-
pacitors going bad as they age.
SOLUTION
When you arrive on location what you
should do is tum the machine on and off
quickly. What you should fmd is a thin
horizontal line two or three inches across
that eventually expands to a normal raster.
Replace C9 on the power supply board and
this will take care of the problem.
NOTE
Above applies to all HI TRON USA-122B 13
amp, 10 amp and 7 amp models.
SYMPTOM
Another complaint is that the monitor's
brightness changes or fluctuates during the
course of the game, or it jitters, breaks up or
turns yellow.

Service Hotline
SOLUTION
This can be caused not by the monitor but by
the connection on the power supply.
Resolder the connections on the power
supply board and these should take care of
the problems.
SOLUTION
Replace C9 = .01 micro@2kvand Cl0 = 220
micro@ 16v.
