ips & Tricks: PCB
Edge Connector Repair

Tip: When you encounter erratic operation
such as going into self-test or tilt in
the middle of a game or the attract mode,
more than likely there is a bad ground
connection.
Check the "fingers" of the edge connector.
If they are burnt and pitted, the
connector is obviously loose.

Trick: I have found a trick to remedy this
situation. Cut switch blades into small
pieces the same size of the burnt fingers.
Tin the fingers good with solder, then
sweat the blade pieces onto the board.
~ This ensures a nice snug fit, as well as
• good electrical connection.)
Note: This repair works on the other
boards as well. Make sure not to build the
pads up too high or it will make it
difficult to get a good connector fit.
