Romstar Plug-In Kits

In our efforts to make our products as
"user friendly" as possible, Rornstar has
developed the following Plug-In kits.
F.ach kit contains a new factory pre-wired
control panel, a pre-cut marquee, and a
plug-in harness or interface board.
(PAC-MAN, MS PAC-MAN kits also include a
switching regulator power supply.)

Merit PHRAZE CRAZE-Program Update

Instructions: Rerove the Program Eprom in
location US and install the new one
labelled 6221-40O5-lA.
This Eprom is available at any authorized
Merit distributor on an exchange basis.
Atari GAUNTLET Audio Amp Check

In the Decerrber issue, (Volune 7, :t-b. ·7)
of STAR'ltTECH JOURNAL, there was a cure for
the destruction of Ql (Tm 2030), one of
the audio anplifiers on the audio PCB
asserrbly. While this should stop any -
static discharge from damaging Ql, there
is one other item to check if you are
still having problems with Ql.
Check the voltage regulator VRl (LM7812)
on the logic board. The 15 volts that
supplies Ql is also fed into VRl which
supplies positive 12 volts to the logic
board. Also check input capacitor C23. Any
open or shorted corrponent in this part of
the circuit could effect Ql.
Update: This version adds Dip switch
Selectable 3, 4, 5, or 6 Faces per gane
and a Selectable Bonus Phrase for
Hi-Score. Also, the nurrber of Zaps and
Zilches are dramatically reduced.
