side of the outermost 1N4007 diode, on the
top left of the PCB. Cut a hole through
the control panel between the forward and
across buttons and install a button switch
which will become the claw drop button.
One wire from this switch goes to the
anode of the lifted diode and the other
wire is soldered to the connection where
the anode of the lifted diode originally
was attached, before it was cut. The
result is the simple "california version",
with unlimited forward tries, then
unlimited across tries, and finally the
claw drop.

BIG CHOICE "California Version" Mod •••
By Lifting a diode, jumping out a diode,
and adding a claw drop button switch, your
original BIG CHOICE can become a
"California Version".
2) permit the player to alternate between A
the forward and across buttons by adding aW
diode to the "cart horre switch";
3) add two more buttons and a simple
reversing circuit so the claw can go back
and forth in either direction;
4) permit the claw to drop down only when
the claw down switch is held closed;
5) add a timer circuit to limit player
abuse.
I still feel that~ BIG CHOICE cranes
were and still are a great investrrent.
There is now available a new
microprocessor board that incorporates all
the above options and also is set for bill
acceptor and win lights direct hook-up.
All newly purchased cranes now come with
the new boards. Call our technical service
or sales deparbrents {201/287-4990) for
further details on these and other
modifications. We can modify several of
the other crane models to have them more
closely comply with your state and local -
gaming laws.

Atari SUPER SPRINT Free Play Problem
By 'Ibdd Erickson

With a bit more work, you can add options
to this MOD such as:
'Ibis is a super game that will be with us
for rrany years. The game has one major
flaw, however; it can go on free-play by •
itself.
1) set the maximum number of button
presses a player may have in either the
forward or across directions by adding
capacitors to the board;
'Ibis is caused by the cash box handle
hitting the coin switch terminals.
Removing the handle or insulating the
switches will solve this problem.

Future scanning projects are planned by the International Arcade Museum Library (IAML).
