CM20
The CM20 is a portable digital capacitance meter
handy for field servicing or bench-top use. The
hand-held size CM20 measures capacitance
ranging from 0.1 pF to 1999uF and is convenient
and easy to use. With only one knob, eight ranges
may be selected: 200pF to 2000uF full-scale. A
zero-adjust knob improves the accuracy of small
value measurements and cancels stray capaci-
tance caused by wiring.
Other features include an easy-to-read 3½
digit, ½-inch high LCD display, and tilt bail and
anti-skid pads to keep the meter steady for easy
reading on bench tops. Capacitance readings are
made quickly at a rate of 2½ measurements per
second. The result: No waiting.
The CM20 can measure a wide range of
capacitors. Two types of input jacks are provided
for this purpose. The standard banana jacks
accommodate test leads and are suitable for
larger capacitors. For smaller capacitors with
leads, there is a test socket.

For overload protection, an easily replaceable
fuse is provided in the battery compartment to
prevent damage to the CM20 by a charged
capacitor. The CM20 can be operated with
battery or AC power (using the optional AC/DC
adapter, Model AJ 11 ).
The CM20 may be used to measure capacitors
found in faulty equipment, cable capacitance
(especially coaxial cables}, and unmarked capac-
itors during incoming inspection that require
sorting and identification.
