last year with new graphic enhancements and
renamed Time Pilot '84. Also shown was a

ATARI
This company once again (AMOA, Nov. '83)
showed their hi-tech video cabinets for their
lasergame Firefox at this show. Only th is time
the power was applied and the whole package
was operational!
In just a few years NTE replacement
semiconductors have become the
electronic games industry standard for
quality and value!
And to back up that claim of quality,
we back NTE replacement parts with an
exclusive two-year warranty.
So, next time you need a quality
semiconductor, look for the big green
and white NTE!
Firefox utilizes a new laserdisc player co-
designed with North American Phillips to Atari
specifications for industrial/commercial appli-
cation. This unit was designed for high reliability;
the system gives extremely rapid access to
"interleaved" video segments including fast
jumping and no "dead spots".
The controls are similar to Star Wars and
are self calibrating.
Aside from TX-1, the three-screen " Pole
Position" shown at the AMOA last fall, this
company's display consisted of conversion

CLIFF HANGER INTERMITTENT OPERATION
BY STEPHEN JANCI, VIDEO SURGEON, GAME-A-RAMA, PITTSBURGH, PA
A
short note concerning Stern's Cliff
,.,..;,.Hanger laserdisc video game:
Our game suffered from intermittent start-
up failure, blackouts, and poor control re-
sponse. This was diagnosed as lacking +12vdc
from the power supply.
RX: Re-solder all Molex pins on power
supply board, especially J2 - pins 1 and 2
(transformer input).
RX: Check+12v supplyfuse-2Aslo-blo.
Test it. Don't just look at it. (Check fuse holder
also for intermittent connection.) Mine looked
good, but it wasn't. Lots of luck!
ATARI
REMEMBERS ITS OWN
Incorporated into Atari's new laserdiscgame,
Firefox, is a tribute to the late marketing whiz,
Don Osborne.
While in the attract mode, alternating with
the high score and recent score tables, are
two flashing messages:
"For Don Osborne, you helped pilot the
course of an Industry. Forever your success
will soar as part of its spirit."
The second message reads:
"For Don Osborne, your journey has just
begun. Your spirit and influence will live on
beyond the horizon of this flight."
