Courses Offered:
Nevada Gaming Schools offers the most extensive training course
in the repair and maintenance of coin operated amusement
machines in the world. A complete training program in the repair
and maintenance of electronic video games, electronic pinballs,
electronic juke boxes and slot machines is offered. Special emphasis
is given to video monitors, microprocessors, diagnostic testing,
electronic test equipment, digital techniques and schematic reading.
Length of Course:
The course is divided into two three-month segments of 300 hours
each, for a total of 600 hours. Those students with the appropriate
background may skip the more basic applications, and complete
specific machines or games within a much shorter time frame. The
course meets five (5) hours per day, five (5) days per week.
However, by attending 10 hours per day the complete course or
segments can be completed in half the normal time.

Tuition:
The complete 600 hour Amusement Machine Technician Course is
$3,050.00 plus a $50.00 registration fee. However, for students
with prior electronic experience who wish to take individual units
covering specific machines, may do so at a reduced cost.
Entrance Requirements:
Nevada Gaming Schools accepts as regular students those indivi-
duals who have graduated from high school; have satisfied graduation
requirements through the General Education Development (GED)
test or persons above the compulsory age of school attendance who
have the ability to benefit from the training offered. The ability to
benefit will be determined by the school's aptitude test.
Certificates/Diplomas Awarded:
To receive a diploma for the Amusement Machine Technician
Program, the student is expected to attend the entire 600 hour
course. Students completing only one phase or shorter periods of
training are eligible to receive a Certificate of Completion.
State/Association Accreditation:
Nevada Gaming Schools, Las Vegas, is accredited by the Accrediting
Commission of the National Association of Trade and Technical
Schools. Both the Las Vegas and Sparks Schools are licensed to
operate by the Nevada Commission on Postsecondary Education
and each instructor is licensed by the Nevada State Board of
Education.
Endorsements:
For those students who are eligible, Nevada Gaming School
participates in a number of government financial aid programs.
Those programs are the Basic Educational Opportunity Grant (Pell
Grant), Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant, National
Direct Student Loan and various State Guaranteed Student Loan
Programs. In addition, the programs at Nevada Gaming School are
approved for the training of Veterans and various State Vocational
Rehabilitation programs.

"Practical Solid State Amusement Repair." A down-to-earth look
at the easiest and fastest ways to fix electronic games without having
to learn electronic theory, or buy expensive test equipment.
Length of Course:
Six days.
General Outline of Subjects:
Using the digital multimeter, understanding and testing semi-
conductors, power supply troubleshooting, video game monitor
troubleshooting, sound systems, conventional video game systems,
X-Y video game systems. All but the microprocessor.
Tuition:
$400.00. Includes all texts and classroom materials.
Entrance Requirements:
No previous knowledge of electronics or games required.
