Audio Amps for "TARG" and "SPECTAR"
One of the most common problems
on the TARG and SPECTAR audio
boards is for your LM379 (or LM378)
(or LM377) audio amp to function
incorrectly. Tf:ie audio amp is located
at position 6A on the audio board
with a heat sink mounted on top. If
your video display is fine but you
have very low volume, no volume,
distorted sound, or screeching, you
may be experiencing symptoms of a
bad audio amp.
A LM377, or LM 378 ora LM379 may
be used if you match the correct dip
shunt with the correct audio amp.
The dip shunt is located in a socket in
position 6B on the audio board and
determines the configuration needed
for a specific audio amp. (See illus-
tration .)
You will notice that to change from
one shunt configuration to the other
all you have to do is remove the
shunt, rotate it 180 degrees, and place
it back into the dip shunt socket.

Operators! Mechanics!
Are you searching for a painless way to upgrade your ability to repair
the Electronic games you operate ... the games you depend on for
your livelihood?
RANDY FROMM'S ARCADE SCHOOLS
offers 46 hours of comprehensive , practical training in electronic
amusement repair for mechanics and operators.
YOU DON'T NEED AN OSCILLOSCOPE ...
to be successful at repairing Solid-State games. The course
stresses the efficient use of test equipment like the Logic Probe and
Digital Multimeter; relatively inexpensive equipment that operators
and mechanics can easily afford .
IS THE COURSE EXPENSIVE?
Not really . The tuition fee of $400.00 includes over $75.00 worth of
textbooks, databooks, and other materials!
Randy Fromm's Arcade School will not teach you how to repair a
jukebox, electromechanical pinball or vending machine. You will
learn about diodes, transistors, power supplies, electronic pinball,
video games (including a special session on video games that use
the X-Y monitor system), cross referencing semiconductor replace-
ment parts, using a logic probe, and more.
