ANSLEY PRESENTS FM IN WIDE
VARIETY OF MODELS
The Ansley Radio Corporation of New York makes the
following statement with reference to FM: "One of the out-
standing developments of the fall season, Frequency Modula-
tion presents a new field worthy of immediate development.
"When Arthur C. Ansley, president of the Company, ob-
tained a license from Major Armstrong and decided to in-
clude FM sets in his fall line, he showed his farsighted con-
sideration for individual tastes. This desire to provide a
choice of FM for everyone has led to a very neatly designed
unit, expertly engineered, which can be incorporated into any
model of the Ansley Dynaphone line at the desire of the
purchaser. The Dynaphone line offers FM combinations in
a wide selection of cabinet styles, both period and modern
in either console or chair-side models. There is a choice of
12 different wood finishes—including the new widely popular
Ansley Toasted Mahogany.
"Through careful preparation and efficient manufacturing,
the cost of the new FM unit is within the reach of all. The
addition of a "Static-less radio" raises the regular prices of
the Dynaphone by only sixty dollars. This makes it possible
to have a standard and short wave console combination with
FM added for only $169.50 for the 8-tube chassis. The 12
and 14-tube models range somewhat higher in price.
"While thinking ahead to anticipate desires of future pur-
chasers of his instruments, Mr. Ansley continued his policy
of remembering his past purchasers. If these present Dyna-
phone owners desire FM reception they need only return the
instrument to the factory and, at a cost of sixty dollars plus
ten dollars for labor, the set will soon be returned with FM
built in. Truly, no Dynaphone need ever be an obsolete in-
strument.
"The new FM by Ansley provides a separate 6-tube FM
tuning unit, built into the normal chassis, but having its own
separate tuning dial covering the complete FM band. The
flexibility and sensible construction of this FM set should go
far toward popularizing the new 'static-less radio' The Ansley
Radio Corporation feels that, from present order indications,
FM may well play an important role in the fall and winter
combination business.
MAGNAVOX, THE CHIPPENDALE SYMPHONY
In the Chippendale Symphone, The Magnavox Company,
offers one of its fine instruments in a cabinet which not alone
fulfills the current demand for period design but re-creates in
a masterly fashion the ideals and delicate precision of that
distinguished 18th Centurp designer. For the admirers of the
great English designers of the Georgian period, this Chippen-
dale Symphony affords them a happy choice and will add
charm and distinction to any home.
The Chippendale Symphony, Model 62, has all the fine fea-
tures to be found in the instruments of the Magnavox Com-
pany; the super-power high-fidelity radio with its remarkable
international range and undisturbed power output of 25 watts.
It has all the advanced features such as temperature stabilized
push-button tuning, individual bass and treble controls, high-
fidelity band expander, interference rejector, and a new cir-
cuit development which brings in distant stations with the
same volume as local. It features also a completely automatic
fifteen-record changer which has the new Pianisimo Pickup,
eliminating frequent needle changes and greatly prolonging
record life. The new speaker system of revolutionary design
embodies two 12-inch Duosonic speakers which provide fidel-
ity and beauty of tone. The Frequency Modulation Receiver,
which is optional, uses a total of 23 tubes.
The cabinet is 48^4 inches high, 37 inches wide, and 18
inches deep. It is available in Old World Mahogany or highly
figured American Walnut.
