THE AMERICAN MUSIC LOVER CHANGES
EORMAT
The American Music Lover
45 Fourth Avenue
New York, N. Y.
To The Record Dealer
We have heen casting ahout for some time to find a format
that would provide our readers with greater legibility and greater
convenience in handling, and we believe that both problems have
been solved in our September 1940 issue. This newest issue of
The American Music Lover is in the popular pocket size, which
has been widely adopted by national magazines. With a relatively
inconsequential reduction in text per page, we are able to offer a
magazine with a newer and more readable typeface and with
smarter and more modern headings at a substantial reduction in
price. With the increasing costs of paper and production in these
times, the dealer will agree with us that we have done the wise
thing. A lower priced magazine will not only be more advan-
tageous to him but will assist him in acquiring more customers
as readers, which inevitably makes for greater sales of good music.
I beginning with the September issue, the price of the magazine
to the dealer, postage prepaid, will be 15c a copy, instead of 17c, as
formerly. In lots of over 50 copies a month, a better price will
be given to those dealers who order same.
