The genuine, lovely Steinway piano
as shown at left became the prop-
erty of the Nation on December 10.
1938. It was the gift of Steinzvay
& Sons, A r czv York, to the IVhite
House to replace the historic gold
encased Steinzvay piano zvhich has
served for 35 years and has now
become a museum piece in the
National Museum.
THIS PIANO, probably one of the finest musical
instruments ever presented to a Nation, is of genuine
Mahogany, even to the beautifully carved eagles and
dancing figures overlaid in gold leaf.
The World's most famous Musical Instrument Manu-
facturers have enjoyed for generations the extra sales
value of their products when Mahogany is used.
Dealers with business vision have been quick to stock
Mahogany encased radios, realizing that thousands of
decorators and home owners had been withholding
purchases until they could match the beauty of their
period furniture. To-day radios in the periods of Chip-
pendale, Hepplewhite, Sheraton and Pfyfe are available
from renowned manufacturers for a discriminating
trade.
The Mahogany Association w i l l b e glad to give you a list.
"The Mahogany Book," a very interesting and instructive
book, will be sent for the asking.
