Recently the Wilking Music Company, Indianapolis,
Ind., has been enlarging and remodeling their store at
120 East Ohio Street, and when completed it will be
one of the finest and most beautifully decorated piano
stores in the United States. The store was originally
considered as beautiful and distinctive as was to be
found. President Frank O. Wilking, has outlined the
plans and decorations for Pesto-Times readers:
As one steps into the store he will find a beautiful
large lobby carpeted and decorated in an entirely new
manner. The color scheme being used has never
before been attempted and is the latest creation of in-
terior decorators. An Indirect lighting system is being
used throughout the store. The decorating is not
overly done, but impresses the observer with its ele-
gance and its simplicity. Over 850 square yards of
carpet are laid, all sales rooms and offices being car-
peted. One important addition is the Organ Salon
devoted to the showing of electric organs.
This announcement reminds one of the history of
the Wilking Music Company. When it started there
was just a very small room holding just a few pianos.
It has expanded and grown in fifteen years to be one
of the largest and most respected piano houses in the
country. The commendable thing about the store is
that it has been from its beginning; an exclusive-piano
store selling nothing but pianos; even during the try-
ing times of the past few years. The Wilking Com-
pany has grown steadily and shown a profit when
most other piano dealers were forced to take on side
lines to keep their business running.
The store when completed will carry, comfortably,
a stock of 150 pianos. The pianos carred today are:
Mason & Hamlin, Knabe, Wurlitzer, Haddorff, Gul-
bransen. Story & Clark, and Everett including the
Everett Orgatron.

A unique, convenient and serviceable listing of their
pianos has just come to Presto-Times from the Jesse
French Corporation, Xew Castle, Indiana. When
